How to Choose the Right Ink for Your Printer
Follow these steps to select the correct product:
1. Identify the full printer model
Find the brand and model on the front, back or bottom label, for example Canon PIXMA G3411 or HP LaserJet Pro M404dn.
2. Find the cartridge or ink code
The code is printed on the old cartridge or listed in the printer manual, such as HP 305, Canon PG-445, Brother TN-2460, Epson 103 or Canon GI-490.
3. Search in several ways
- Printer model.
- Cartridge or OEM code.
- Brand.
- Ink color.
4. Ink or Toner?
Ink is liquid and is generally used in inkjet printers. Toner is powder used in laser printers.
5. Original, Compatible and Remanufactured

| Original | Made by the printer manufacturer. |
| Compatible | A new product made by another company to fit the printer. |
| Remanufactured | A previously used original cartridge that has been refurbished and refilled. |
6. Check color, capacity and region
Verify color, capacity/page yield and regional code where applicable. Similar packaging does not guarantee compatibility.
